Solar Water Pumping

Zero electricity costs, powered by the sun

Diesel generators and grid electricity make water pumping expensive and unreliable. Solar water pumping eliminates fuel costs, runs unattended, and pays for itself within 2-3 years, while Kenya enjoys 4-7 hours of peak sun daily.

How It Works

1

System Sizing

We calculate your Total Dynamic Head, flow rate requirements, and solar irradiance for your location to select the right pump and panel array.

2

Equipment Supply

We supply quality solar panels, DC/AC submersible pumps from brands like Dayliff and Lorentz, controllers, and all mounting hardware.

3

Installation & Commissioning

Our technicians install the solar array, connect the pump and controller, and commission the system with full testing and handover training.

Pricing Guidance

Starting from KES 85,000 for small residential systems (0.4kW pump + 2 panels). Medium systems from KES 180,000. Large institutional systems from KES 500,000.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it work on cloudy days?
Yes, but at reduced output. We size systems using the worst-month solar data for your location, so the pump meets your needs even in the cloudiest month. Most systems include storage tanks as a buffer.
How does it compare to a generator?
A solar pump system has higher upfront cost but zero running costs. A typical generator costs KES 500-1,500/day in fuel. Solar payback is usually 2-3 years, after which pumping is essentially free for 20+ years.
Can I use my existing borehole?
Absolutely. We frequently retrofit existing boreholes with solar pumps. We just need to know your borehole depth, water level, and casing diameter.
What maintenance is required?
Solar pump systems are very low maintenance. Clean panels every 2-4 weeks and have an annual professional check. No oil changes, no fuel, no belts.
Do I need batteries?
For water pumping, usually no. We pump directly into elevated storage tanks during the day. The tanks provide water pressure 24/7 without batteries, keeping costs down.
